The Final Battle Lost

I am weak against the darkness
I am fighting the final war
For the world forgot it’s child
So I’m fallen on the floor

My soul’s army marches silent
Soldiers shot down to the ground
Near the passage of my heart
They are sprawled hurt all around

Darkness has invaded me
Though I have fought very hard
It is flowing through my veins
There is no one left to guard

The enemy holds up sharp swords
They are cutting from inside
With the final battle lost
It is time that I have died

Most everything is quiet now
Except the cars flying by
So I rest my head comfortably
And I close each tired eye

So good bye my cruel, cruel world
That I never did fit in
Oh, what battles we have fought
What a ride that this has been..
