You remind me of the sea
the way you were painted.
The white sand washed up
on your flawless face
and the water caught in your eyes
kissing a lash of star streaked night
i caught you dancing alone
like the sands of time fell back
and breeze of reality had yet to stroke your cheek
and when it did
you shattered like a delicate mosaic
darling are you lying awake
turning the pages of this tragedy
to the epilogue of your existence
the consequence of wisdom
slipping a switchblade in your back
if i could you know id hide it
behind my eyelids
and blink away all that threatens
your concealed radiance
i watched you turn away
suffering a fatal paroxysm of disappointment
while the rain washed you filthy
and the night shone darkness upon
your silver hair and winter pale skin
accentuating the broken heart you wear
on your frazzled sleeve
