How can you still sleep?

Does your conscience ever bother you at night
When the lights are out?
When you hear a little girl screaming
Do you still hold your mouth?

How can you sleep in the same room
When he just did ‘his things’ in your bed?
He has hurt the children of your children
That you and he have bred.

Don’t you feel guilty
For the things you know he has done?
And that you didn’t say a word
But now the chance to confess is gone.

You didn’t try to stop him
And ignored the children’s tears.
How can you love and support the man
That is your granddaughter’s biggest fears?

How can you still sleep in there
In that raper’s bed every night?
You can’t deny what he has done
‘cause denial won’t make it right.

Don’t you ever feel guilty
For the things you haven’t done?
‘Cause you didn’t say a word
And now everyone is gone.
