Life on Earth, As it is in Heaven.
Falling downward in the expanding void
of consumption in a life of abuse.
Too far from the Top to be overjoyed
Habitual habits in my habitual use.
The game we play now plays me
The perpetual buzz in my brain.
Despite material loss, its not the fee
Life in purgatory brings due pain.
My mind is a sponge to the novel of my life
I am lost in the pages, an essence of evil.
The desire to wring my thought free from devils
And turn to god in this crucial upheaval.
The time on the clock is stuck fifteen 'til
A second hand moves back, never to advance.
I try not to swallow my sleeping pill.
The thought could be beaten without a chance.
I've bent my life in summer awe
And my wings cannot soar straight.
Battles raged, the powers of man and law
Beaten, I always kept my amour plate.
In my prison I swallowed the key
There must be someone god will trust.
To sail and find me across a black sea
Someone to save me; one knife's thrust.
They will cut me free from myself
"My head is bloody, but unbowed."
Get my whole back off the shelf
To form a life with the one who vowed
Give me, “Life on earth, as it is in Heaven”
And a peace in the solitude of my heart
Let me, find someone and create a love to leaven.
Happiness is beauty and life’s a work of art.
