The purification through burning in his eyes,
The very essence of evil embodied in a twisted man’s delusion.
Writhing in the fires that had been sparked,
Humanity was dwindling in its own faults.
Spiraling through the inferno that had been created
Was the pure emptiness of hate and bitter disposition.
Plummeting and infecting so intensely
Throughout the very existence of thought:
Was extermination.
The endurance and willpower of the victims
Steadfastly holding among the storm of abhorrence.
Sifting through the blaze was the mist of hope,
All were numb to the truth of redemption and liberty;
The aura of freedom lingering so near – within grasp,
Yet seemingly intangible and ever elusive.
Against all odds, the dynamism of the flames had drowned
And had given new life,
But left the earth scorched and scarred.
Justice, soaring across the earth for the first time again,
Shedding dawn across the land that was dusk –
Had done it’s best to mend the broken spirit of the world,
And purify the murk that had dripped through all.
Peace had taken hold, and the embers of the tempest had begun to cool,
But haunting memories die hard.
Forever wounded by the thunderous furnaces, putrid stench of blood, and
innocent screams
The ground will never forget the fire it could not stop.
