It's NOT okay.

Have you ever looked into the eyes of the person
you love the most in the world?
Have you looked into those windows
and watched their heart break,
and know it was because of you?
Did you watch their soul darken
and see their heart bleed,
as it slips down their cheek
to stain their shirt?

Could you see the laughter that danced around
the corner of their eyes
disappear
with the smile that always played on those lips
that you kissed so many times?
Did you watch their world break,
and shatter into pieces
to tiny to ever mend?
And when you realized you held the hammer
did your world fall apart too?

Because mine did.

So don't tell me it's okay.
Because it's not.
Some things just can't be forgotten
and don't deserve to be forgiven.

Even when the smile
Cautiously returns,
and every now and then that old laughter
will flash through the eyes
where a broken love still flickers,
it will never be the same.
Because the spoken "I love you" is as meaningless and empty
as the apology ever was.

So don't tell me it's okay.
