The way life is

She stood there without making a sound
The darkness swallowing the deadly ground
She grasped a flower in her right hand
Then let go and watched it hit softly land
It hit the stone with no sound at all
Not a breeze of wind disturbed its fall
A single tear dropped from her eye
At that point she just wanted to die
She begged and begged it to just be a dream
The life was drained from her that’s what it would seem
Oh how the world then seemed so long
4 years today her granddad was gone
She turned her back and left the saddening place
Not looking behind her she with a quickened pace
