Morning Glory

My grandfather once asked me
"Did I ever tell you the story
Of the most beautiful girl who
Always wore a morning glory?
The white pedals pressed so slightly
Against her amber hair
Where ever she would go
It laid so gently there
She would sing to the roses
Caressing them them in a tune
Sometimes laying among the lillies
Her eyes drawn upon the moon
The crimson sun would rise while
In the red poppies she'd dance
To the sound of a bird's chirp
As a boy walking stole a glance
She turned around and saw him
Her cheeks turned slightly red
He smiled with a shy "hello"
And followed where his feet led
They went for a walk together
Along a stream, swift and strong
And lost in her beauty he asked
To let him hear another song
And she did, with perfect notes
That strung together in harmony
Diasies danced to every word
Never would he forget that melody
His hand brushed hers softly
Into his eyes she began to gaze
He was enchanted by her smile
It was the first of many days
Soon feelings had been in bloom
With many more trips to the stream
Love was floating with the pollen
Better than any kind of dream
I'm thankful every minute that I
Spend my every day and every hour
With your grandmother,Morning's Glory
And her little white flower"
