(In the voice of George Wilson from "The Great Gatsby")

The very epitome of cruelty:
When one gives their heart,
When one not only gives,
but becomes the gift.
My whole being – existence
sustained by her care and love.
Through agonizing loyalty
within the tantalizing vortex,
was my happiness.
In love, Enthralled, Captivated: Trapped.
The illusion of life’s blinding quest
forced me to choose my purpose
She was my purpose.
All I loved and cared for.
gone.
Oh my God...
Paralyzing Shock contorting my being.
Maybe it wasn’t entrapment,
I must have done something wrong.
Maybe… I wasn’t loving enough?
What if I had altered one mere aspect?
Would she subsist presently in my arms?
The responsibility slumbers exasperatingly
on me… I deserve the ultimate destination
or.. No.. no, not just me.
It was him… the monster.
The embodiment: evil, cold, uncaring, reckless.
I can’t let him suck precious life
earth giving sanctity ends for all
who execute such evil.
For him,
and For me,
The very epitome of cruelty.
