Losing A Friend Or More

We use to be so close
We use to be so tight
And when you started to drift away
I willingly put up a fight

I never meant to loose you
You never wanted to loose me, too
But deep inside we both knew
That there were things our friendship
Could not go through

You got soaked up in different people
In the tide, you were over took
And we’d walk past each other in the halls
You’d give me that longing look

Our hugs were never the same
Because your friends never let you stay
So they never really lasted long
You were always pulled away

You know we need each other
We knew it from the start
It's fading involuntarily and slowly
Pulling us apart

But I’ll never really let you go
Because our friendship was a work of art
And you know I always loved you so
You’ll always be in my heart

Losing a friend or more is painful
And still loving them is hard
