Love Between the Screams

When all is said and done
My heart remains on the floor
Wide open to the thoughts
You left when you closed the door.
And you can push me, pull me,
Throw me 'cross the room,
But I'll have you know
I'll be seeing you soon.
Because, in the crash we burned
I look'd in your eyes and knew
That in the morning, after the rain
I do and always will, love you
Not for your eyes or loving ways
Or the things you have said;
I love you for the way you are,
The you I lay next to in bed.
And I could leave forever
Never be around again,
But where would I be without you,
My lover and best friend?
You could turn around, walk out,
But I'll love you through and through.
Because I know you'll be back soon,
To tell me you love me too.
