Recipe for Contentment

Simmer your cold blood
With the sauce of the day
With sunshine like a flame
To melt your worries away
Like a pastry in the oven
The element a blaze
Smile with no effort
And rest those sleepy eyes
Laying in a field of Amber
Beneath the starry skies
Breath ever so soft
As not to wake the moon
Don’t disturb the crickets
Or their fiddler’s tune
Let trees whisper hush
It is time for bed
Sleep well my darling
And cradle your head
A recipe for contentment
Happiness in a nut shell
Lovely days with changing seasons
Have taught me this wisdom to tell
