Sometimes I wonder why
You treat me as you do
I just want to live my life
And experience it through and through.

I want to make my own choices
I don't want to just do what you say
I want to learn things for myself
Which may mean making mistakes day by day

I feel pressured to do the things
That you want me to do and the things that you say,
Even though in my heart
I know I need to do it my own way.

I need to experience the world
And see what it has to offer.
You Can't protect me forever and ever
I have to face my own monsters.

I can think on my own
By now you should see,
That wether or not you want me to
I'm going to be the real me.
