Pen and paper was sitting together
They were talking about us
About how you always write me a letter
Saying this love will last

About how you fill the lines and spaces
With words, heart-felt and real
And how I’d write back with heart dotted letter i’s
Ending it with an “I LOVE YOU TOO!”

But pen and paper never knew
Why tears were falling down my face
“I only wrote what he felt about her” pen said,
“But I never meant to cause her pain.”

I guess pen and paper would never know
Why tears were falling down my face
‘Cause they hadn’t read the words you wrote
Which I thought would bring a smile to my face

I’ll admit that sometimes I reminisce
With your letter in my hands
Wherein you wrote: “I’m sorry, please forgive me,
But our relationship has got to end…
P.S. I’ll still love you… forever.”
