shes falling apart slowly
you can see it
her eyes once sparkled
and shone with such brilliance
lighting up each room she crossed into
blank they stare now
hollow, empty, emotionless
tears fall occasionally
showing the tiny but vibrant
spark of life struggling to survive
in a life so forsaken and abandoned
a smile once stretching
clear across her pretty face
now barely visible against sallow skin
once shining gold hair
seemingly of silk
floating gracefully down her back
hangs limp and coarse
unwashed and stripped of shine
clothes that fit close to her curving figure
now hang loosely on a frame not her own
one too small and frail to possibly
be the once elegant and tall young woman
its evident everywhere
she needs to be free
that much is established
but who can free her?
and is there a way to turn back
the damage that has already come
or is it too late
and is she gone to us
gone like the breezes by the seaside
never again to show her face to the world
