I know my parents want what's best for me,
They see my talents, my love, my capabilities.
They know I can make my dream come true,
They know all the things I must do and go through.
But what they don't know, is how I'll get there,
They want what's best for me, and I guess that's fair.
But a piece of my life, has not yet been found,
It's not anywhere here - not in this small town.
It's out in the world, far away from my home.
I have to go find it, but I must go alone.
It won't be for long, just some time's all I need.
Mom, dad, please don't you worry, I know you're just looking out
for me.
But you have to let go, let me find my life, my destiny.
Sooner or later, I must be set free,
Please, don't make this hard, just let these things be.
I know I must go, to places I may not even know,
But it's for the best, please don't say no.
I can't find my life within these town walls,
I must go somewhere else, but I promise I'll call.
So please let me go, on my way peacefully,
I know this will work, it's the best thing for me.
