under the stars as our bodies did meet
it was you watching the moon
and it was i watching your lips
everything felt so hesitant,
so awkward, but perfect
and all the while we felt so alive

the afterglow refreshed us
on that warm summer night
our eyes met quietly, our hearts were captured
and it was then that he whispered
as if in a dream,
“I love you”
