My One

Life is but a whisper on a dark and stormy eve,
Love is but a grain of sand held between the teeth.

I lay my head in sorrow, in pain, and in despair,
For life isn't worth living once Love is no longer there.

I wait in patient sorrow for my day to truly come,
For some one out there loves me, where are you my one?

I once knew happiness, it seems so far away,
So now I sit in loneliness, and hope for better days.

Maybe one day love will find me true and keep me standing tall, but deep
inside I'll love you always, till the end of time.
