"We Need To Talk"

Do you remember that time you told me you loved me
And meant it?

No, of course you don’t, it never happened
And it won’t, now that a small fraction
Of this relationship remains
But `tis only the title
Boyfriend and Girlfriend
The love, not vital?
How can you hold me at night
When you know what’s in sight
Who will be the one to say ‘We Need To Talk’
I don’t know what we’re holding on to
Your key no longer fits my lock
What is there left for me to do?
Compliments to the chef, for cooking up a storm
As the tears pour and the insults roar
These freakish fights really bite
As we get closer to the edge
One of us will have to jump
This love is too far fetched
But I can swear on god, himself
That if I was on mountain top
I might very well go to hell
But I know I’d push you off…

By the way…

We need to talk
