We all saw her coming,
And awaited for her to pass.
Before we knew it,
Katrina had gone at last.
She did not leave quietly,
That we all know.
But she left us with horrifying scars,
And people without homes.
The water was rising above belief,
The people were terrified in the streets.
Cries for help were somehow ignored,
But pain and death were all aboard.
Babies would scream and children would stare,
Adults although weren't much help.
Stores that were once full,
Will now be empty.
Some stole guns and shot up others,
Just so they could somehow survive,
But how could they take from others who had nothing?
Everyone was in a state of shock,
All because of Katrina came in with a hard knock.
No food, water, or proper shelter,
All they had was hope for their life after.
Nothing will ever be the same now,
For hurricane Katrina came fiercely with a pow.
As we see this occur,
We help as much as we can.
But sometimes we can't erase the devastation in the stands.
Hurricane Katrina left all without homes,
But also without family as the death population grows.
