The Girl

She’s the girl who looks in the mirror and sees nothing but ugly
Twirls her hair and with a frown asks, “How can someone love me?”
She thinks no one cares about what she’s going through
Stares at her reflection on the corner of that blade knowing just what to
do
As pen meets paper, this blade meets her arm, writing out painful memories
As her wrists cry crimson tears she whispers, “I hope no one remembers me”
Seeing no cure and thinking no one can give her help
She loses all hope and finds another way to harm herself
What she doesn’t realize is that here is someone who cares
Who’s been where she’s been and who keeps her in his prayers
He pleads and begs for her to listen to what he has to say
You have no reason to feel ugly or to end your life this day
Always here to talk no matter how much your world might weigh
I’m more than just a friend and to you, I would never betray
Your trust, your love or any other thing you wish to convey
Stop looking at your mirror image in that glimmering blade
And look into these eyes at the reflection that will never fade
