The Goodbye Dance

You came late
to the dance
you broke my heart
and took a chance.

But then I waited
and you told me
that you were late
because of a tree.

The I broke down
and you held me dear
kissed my head
and wiped my tear.

You then pulled me away
and lifted my nose
extended your arm
and exposed a rose.

Which I held dear
until that day
you tore my heart
in that awful way.

When you picked her
instead of me
for that date
up under our tree.

And so I left you
by her side
and went away
for another ride.

Where I found someone
whose name is Bry
with lots of joy
I say goodbye.
