It’s amazing the rules
Our elders try to enforce.
The color of our pants
Or the type of our shorts.

What shoes we must wear
Open back or the toe.
How this affects learning
I really don’t know.

But there’s one simple rule
That I can’t comprehend
What purpose does it serve
To tuck our shirts in?

We look funny and flimsy
Floppy and fat
Now what kind of school
Would really want that?

It’s a trivial thing
That’s remarkably stupid
And the crazy part is
You know we won’t do it!

If we happen to pass
A teacher that's strict
We’ll simply just roll it
Just give it "the flip."

Now I’ll disclose to you
I am an A student
And not once last year
Did I ever do it!

It had no effect
Did not diminish my grades
So what’s the incentive
To do it these days?

So you see this complaint
Is really quite founded,
For some frequent un-tuckers
Are really well rounded.

But as I walk into class
It grabs your attention
Then you hand me a slip
That says in bold

DETENTION!!!!
