Your Choice

Cold…like autumn’s near winter breeze,
Cold…like snow’s frost covered trees,
Your heart took what belonged to me,
Now alone, a place never sought to be.

I’ve waited for you so long,
My heart sang a sweet song,
But our timing was just always wrong,
Fate decided we shouldn’t get along.

At first it was only friendship I wanted to lend,
Then unknowingly it’s love I tried to send,
I only realized it in the end,
But by then it was to late to mend.

You persuaded me to let you win,
Our music does begin again,
But in it now, I don’t hear you voice,
You left me with out a choice.

Once there was trust…but now there’s none,
A place of warmth…but now it’s gone,
There was love…but hatred has won,
A connection …but now it’s done.

When I close my eyes I seem to see,
That world that belonged to just you and me,
But things have changed, that was before,
You said it’s not the way you wanted any more.

However I know this isn’t going to be,
For reasons that are unknown to me,
But now doors between us close,
With out me is the life you chose.
