Voices lie
Promises break
What’s behind one eye
Is the beginning of a life mistake

You were married
You had kids
I could be pissed
Or permanent like that scar on your wrist

She cried at night
Because you’re lied
She denied at night
Because her kids whined

She couldn’t take it anymore
She couldn’t go anywhere
But you swore
That there’d be no affair

What’s unfair is the lie
That crept onto you
The lie that brung her tears to each eye
That lie that made you do the exact opposite

Now, no matter how hard she tries
She never escapes the feelings inside
Who knows
She’s torn

Could it be a good thing
Now, I know it’s nothing she deserved
She brung you every child
She brung you every moment

Even though she didn’t know you
She loved you
She never doubted you
She believed you

I told her so
No matter how hard she tries
She will never forget it
She’s so tense

She’s the only one
Who knows

Voices lie
Promises break
But, what’s behind one eye
Is the beginning of a life mistake
