Forever


You haunt me here at night
With your simple and thoughtless words
So I stare deeply in the sky
To block out what I’ve heard

I tried so hard to smile
And block the tears to come
But the pain that you have brought me
Are unbearable to some

It’s so hard to be without you
I’ve tried my best to be strong
And I realize now that in time
You will have gone on

So I stay and wait forever
As long as it may take
I’ll wait here just for you
Even if my heart shall break

Forever may seem long
But to me it’s a chance to see
How far love can carry us
To where our paths may lead

Forever isn’t now
But maybe it will be then
I know that in my heart
We’ll be together once again
