When the day fades and melts into night,
I'll hold onto my stars with all of my might.
Softly and sweetly, the wind lulls me to sleep;
Swaying and drifting, losing the mem'ries I keep.
My heart has been hollow while yours is so full;
So when I try to fly away, on my sleeve you pull.
And I can't fight the way your eyes shine tonight;
The way they strip away the feelings so contrite.
Break these bonds that hold me to the ground,
And show me how to sing without making a sound;
Because in the night I join the moon in serenade -
A silent lullaby of sweet promises we made.
I hide a desire to fly into the sky's palette,
Where I can swallow the colors of a wondrous sunset.
And choke on reality when I get too deep,
That allows inhibitions down within me to seep.
Please allow me to bid a final farewell, do stay well,
I'll be the brightest angel that ever graced Hell.
But I'll never forget you, One with the shining eyes,
The most beautiful one to ever light my skies
'Cause not only did you mend my wings to better than before,
You took my hand and showed me how to soar.
