Lighting Disillusions

The light slowly starts to shimmer
On my face the shadows glimmer.
The rain quickly falls up the sky
As the truth is found in my lie.

The truth I tell is soon retold
But when I lie, I am cold.
Useless attempts on how I feel
so when I'm sad they're like, "what's the deal?"

The mistakes I've made I now regret
Try I do, I'll never forget:
The pain I've caused and memories made
Like a always repeating serenade.

The feelings we had, they'll still linger
Just like the ring that was on your finger.
Having you gone, and wishing you back
Will just make things seem out of whack.

That's why I'm trying to forget you now.
Havin' you sittin' there thinking how,
And why we're living our life this way.
I'm just taking it day by day.
