Seemingly Perfect

How did we get here,
this place of darkness and gloom
What did we do wrong
to leave each other no room
We were seemingly perfect
you even had a ring on my hand
Said all the right words
thought you'd always understand
Why did tears get in the way
you never truly let me in your heart
Always some door in between
that eventually tore us apart
How exactly did it all happen
was it distance that blew me away
Did a switch I had been avoiding go off
or was I looking for something truthful to say
I was locked in this castle
you were my only means of escape I could think of
We both disguised what was underneath
mistaken facts for impossible love
Is this just another argument
Are we going to fight like we used to
when we don't say anything at all
and disagree then say "I love you"
This is why we never worked
This is why I had to leave
Nothing led to anything good
no longer did I believe
Now look where we are
All around us, where is the peace
Changing this was suppose to make it better
but my love will never cease
I said good bye all for good reasons
but its so hard not to run back to what we were
I am stronger; I am no longer weak
so its okay that you fell in love with her...
