Did you not see?
the tears in her eyes?
Did you not see?
the smile that hid her lies?

No one saw what she did to herself,
living life behind a closed door.
She’d wear a smile to hide the pain,
but inside her heart was sore.

Her friends would ask her what’s her deal,
she’d never speak of the wounds that wouldn’t heal.
And still she hid behind her lies,
hiding the tears deep within her eyes.

She‘s spend so many nights,
in darkness, crying alone.
Thinking a way to her freedom,
would they notice she was gone?

Dawn to dark,
morning to night.
Through her broken tears,
broke a blinding light.

A way to break her puppet strings,
a way to end her pain.
That night she knew just what to do,
she knew deep inside she was no longer sane.

She lay her head down silently,
her eyes closing for good.
No one left to stop her then,
like a real parent should.

Breaking shadows covered the room
blood began to seep.
No more tears crawled from her eyes,
she knew her scars were too deep.
