A Teenage Love Story

“I Love You…” read the note fixed in my fingers
Steady in my mind aloft the words lingered
Creasing it to a square with a glooming look on my face
Putting it in my pocket as it slid into place
A love so abundant, a love so divine
Just the sensation that I know that he’s mine

Dissolving our hands are like as they are bound together
Apprehending gaze among us, this is where they should be forever
The time we cherish in the presence of the one we so desire
Feeding our love with passion like feeding wood to a fire
Burning our lusts turns to this unexplainable erotic emotion
Suddenly our flirty teenage lives turn into faithful devotion

I wish I could say this wasn’t the end to this beautiful love story
Have a conclusion like a fairly tale with great extravagant glory
I wish I could say that’s all the note read
Not falling back in my chair, dizzy in my head
Or clutching the desk, trying not to shed a tear
Rubbing my eyes, knowing that they’re there

Later shredding the note up along with my heart
Believing we were meant to be together right from the start
Almost like I gave my heart to this guy
Watched him wrench it in his hands, toss it where it would lie
A typical conclusion to a story filled with such emotion and joy
A teenage love story of a girl and a boy
