We'll reminisce in the times we thought we were invincible.
Far before we lost touch, before our hearts beat out of sync.
When we jumped into lakes and swung on thick ropes..
And knew not to tell each other what to think.

We'll remember the moments we stared into the other's eyes
Not knowing what was to come of anything we might have seen.
Moments we wouldn't let each other win, and liked to walk in rain.
When we talked of tattoos and religion, and everything in between.

We'll recall days of bike rides and beds and hiding behind curtains,
Bashfulness and nakedness in closets and childish skinniness.
Days where we never fought and were scared not to know one another.
Carpets and couches and pavement full of words we said simultaneously.

It's funny to recall how one's insides never change.
These days are still filled with rain and religion and deep stares.
But these stares are not between us- they belong to me and you and others.
Our words have faded- everything else is not sand, and you are not the
world.

It’s surreal to think of vivid memories where we grasped at ideas
Ideas how we must always think together, be bound together.
Times where we declared “we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Our lives have separated, and it has become another way... I hope you are
invincible.
