He opened her door
Late one night,
Reached for the switch,
And turned on the light.

Lying there before him,
To his right,
He saw such horror,
Such a fright.

His daughter lying there,
With bleeding wrists,
Barely a pulse
With open fists.

There was no motion
She was not making a sound
For she was unconcious,
Her soul was not around.

He panicked and grabbed the phone
He dialed 911
And told them what was happening
In his own home.

He grabbed his daughter,
Held her in his arms,
He could not believe
He let her come to harm.

She was not breathing
The bleeding had stopped
Her eyes rolled back
Her weight had dropped.

Unable to believe
He broke down in tears
Realized he was face to face
with his biggest fear.

She was his life
She was his world
Why did this happen
To Daddys Little Girl?
