Secrets at Home

She walks closed off from everyone
Don't look into her eyes
She holds a secret no one knows
Deep in her heart is where it lies

Don't get too close to her
She reeks of illegal things
Oh, if only they knew the chilling truth
That tomorrow's sun may bring

Watch her every move
As she glides down the hall
A little girl stuck inside
She's calling out to all

"Help me, somebody save me
I don't want to be like this"
As everyone goes about their lives
That little cry they missed

This little town's heard rumors
The wind whispers her life
But they won't stop to ask
Why she has all this strife

She's scared not knowing what to do
She has no where to turn
But this might be the only way
A lesson he will learn

She lives in fear of his alcohol drenched breath
She shakes when he comes home
"What will happen tonight" she thinks
As she waits in her room alone

No one comes to help her
They only care about themselves
She's going to have to find a way
To get to help herself

As the moon dances across the sky
The floorboards scream her every step
She doesn't know what will come of it
But tonight she's running away from death.
