by the power vested in
turmoil turbulence
and secondhand wind
may we puncture the lids
of bridges,
balloons,
and personality.
may we penetrate the crust
of rainbows,
love notes,
and bubbles blown.
by the power vested in
never ending ice flow
may we ice up our hearts
and freeze over our compassion.
by the power vested in
tangled chords
and the shoes that hang upon them
may we re-pave the road
with velvet and gold.

and by the power vested in
good luck and bad intentions
may we pray again
to the silicon god
of tobacco and nights spent alone
may we pray again
for skulls,
for crossbones,
and for sweet
purified
lullaby
tones
to comfort our
adolescent mistakes.
