Reflections of a time, when all seemed so right,
Loving one another; all through the night.
Your eyes would light up when I walked into a room,
Your smile was so real, such a handsome groom.

We began our life with nothing, needing only each other,
Sharing our hopes and dreams; my sweet sexy love.
With you by my side, I could handle it all,
You were my safe haven, a soft place I could fall.

We had our struggles, our conflicts with life,
But I always felt fortunate to be your wife.
We stood by each other, oblivious to any flaws
Often times we’d say, “I love you, just because.”

As the years passed, and our family grew,
It seems we lost sight of what we always knew.
I wish I could remember, the day that it happened,
When the light burnt out, and our marriage weakened.

We’ve made mistakes, some too painful to mention,
Why we keep hurting each other is beyond comprehension.

My safe haven is now my dreams,
Where I can reflect on a time, when all seemed so right
Loving one another; all through the night.
