My Best Friend

I dream of your face,
And live for your touch,
Your smile makes my heart race,
Love you so much.

You were out of my reach, out of site,
Then you broke her heart and she was torn,
Now you hold me tight,
And keep me warm.

You took my hand,
And I took yours,
Up we stand,
Against the world.

We talk on the phone,
Hour after hour, time rolls on,
He says, "Never will you be alone,
Because i will never be gone."

You surprise me with a picnic,
Set on the beach shore,
Writing in the sand with a stick,
We wrestle to the sandy floor.

We danced under the moon and set the stars free,
Under the lite-up night sky our lips would touch,
And trust me,
All these memories, they hurt me so much.

I cry every night,
And dream every day,
Of you holding me tight,
And how you slipped away.

All the memories make me smile,
As the tears start to come,
Your number I am tempted to dial,
Remembering all the romance and fun.

You are my world but now you see,
Tears in my eyes, I hope you can tell,
I love you and trust me,
These memories hurt like hell.

But I hold in the tears,
As I watch you stand,
Under the moon-lite sky...
Kissing my best friend.
