A Child Who Watered Flowers With Tears

She wished with all my heart and mind
That just till sunset she could fly
Into the passionate purples and pinks
For up in the clouds you don't have to think
No desperate puzzles assembled with sin
So carefree ...no thoughts of him
That father she always wanted to please
The man whose belt whips at her with sad ease
The amber wind blows across her face
Her chocolate hair is out of place
Her eyes reflecting the golden sun
She's so high up above everyone
Like a delicate feather she floats onto a cloud
Her Daddy would be so very proud
She plays so happily with the birds
They leave her at a loss for words
She wonders what it would be like
Not to live in fear of a blow or strike
She flips in the air ever so free
Beauty as far as the eye could see
But the sun sets and it grows dark
On a journey of falling does she embark
She falls so helpless to the ground
She cries for help but they hear no sound
She drops from the sky at a frightening rate
She stayed out flying far too late
She screams for Daddy but he's nowhere in sight
He's too drunk to save her flight
Fallen dreams... a fallen child
Who hardly ever recieved a smile
A father from whom she just wanted love
She only ever recieved a shove
A 5 year old child faced with death
So close to the ground she can feel its breath
She finally fell onto a flower bed
Her mind, body, and soul all dead
And for the first time in so many years
The flowers were watered... with her many tears
