“Dearly beloved,
We are gathered here today”
Blah blah blah,
It’s all the same

So unemotional
Where’s the heartfelt sympathy?
You don’t really care
He’s just another face you see

You didn’t even know him
The smile that he had
The laughter he brought
After making you mad

Hanging out everywhere
The hoodlums in town
Throwing people in the pond
Turning frowns upside down

Stealing Jamie’s purse
Just to piss her off
“C’mon, wanna fight?
Put ‘em up, put ‘em up”

No, you didn’t know him
The kind of guy he was
Trying to act tough
Yet passing out hugs

So, “We’re gathered here today
To mourn the loss of a loved one”
Great comfort words
To the ones who really knew him

I have to stare at him in that casket
He was only 16 years old
Grazing his lifeless hand
Wondering why it is so cold

Nope, you didn’t know him
So stop with your stupid words
We’re the ones who have to deal
With all the pain and hurt

In loving memory of Dylan Dufour 11/26/05. One of the greatest friends I
ever had. We're missing you down here!
