Through sheets of fading music
To sheets of icy rain
I walk across the cobblestone
Of twisting Memory Lane

I turn a common corner
Into thoughts I’ve thought before
Where music becomes memory
A tear for every score

I watch us, from a distance
Beneath a summer tree
Kissing in the freezing rain
You’re holding on to me...

And next I see us laughing
Beneath the velvet skies
Looking at the stars
In one another's eyes

Now I’m softy gazing
Into the optic blue
I’ll stay right here forever
As long as I’m with you

Here comes another bend
Upon remembrance road
I find myself in recent days
A saddened, hopeless ode

Snaking through my garden
A vine, a vein, a thread
Which lies inside, polluted
The things I should have said

Only vines are growing
While the cherished flower dies
It rained today on Memory Lane
In the absence of blue eyes
