Wild Horses

My thoughts and feelings
were like a group of wild horses,
rushing from one territory to another.
They were my master, commanding me
with their untamed power and energy.
I was too feeble to master them.

Carefully I started to listen and understood them.
I spoke their language and became their honcho.
They became my flock - proud, sovereign and wild,
eager to announce their savage nature
despising every attempt to be domesticated.

Wild, we are all wild,
born of the same heart.
Look at their manes in the wind
and the lawless fire in their eyes:
you are looking at me.
