The night is frozen
Motionless with time
No words are spoken
The midnight bells chime
I turn to the stars
For one last look
Coldness grabs me
My breath it took
I gasp for air
My heart races
I capture the stare
Of forbidden faces
My pulse speeds up
And then slows down
In a matter of seconds
I’m on the ground
My grasp un-tightens
My fingers let go
The night has come
My thoughts start to slow
My body lays there
A scene I dread
My eyes slowly close
The night is dead
