The Captain?

Somewhere off shore
You'll find the captain without his crew
Planks of wood warped
Belongings ruined

"The end of my world" he said
"The end of your life" she replied
The captain wept

He wept for his pictures
And the frames that hold them captive
He wept for the liquor
That let him sleep at night

His cards lay under
And his defeat, it's somber
But his throat, it is slit
Though his death is not apparent

And he cried
He cried for the clock
That kept him behind
He cried for the gun
That promised him one

She took his head
And held him under
Kissed his lips so no one would wonder

He begged for his life
The crew and the light
He closed his eyes
And saw nothing but night
