Once again You fall

sometimes i wonder how you deal with your life
sit up late at night and fiddle with your knife
all the thoughts racing through your young mind
and the only thing you think about is what you'll leave behind.

you lay your head down and try to close your eyes
but you can't close out the memories of all your lies
so you try to erase all the images by drinking more
and every sip you take it reminds you of how you were before.

can you not see that there is light beyond your fear
can you not see that there is love beyond each tear
there is an open door for you to walk away from this all
but once again you turn away, once again you fall

sometimes i wonder what you think about your heart
sit there and contemplate what really tore you apart
all the empty bottles with pills scattered across
you try to convince yourself that death has no cost

you exhale the fumes that just entered your lungs
but you can't smoke away the hurt from all the lying tongues
the hallucinations are only causing your fear to grow
and every hit you take makes you more willing to go

can you not see that there is life beyond this
can you not see that there is hope beyond his kiss
there is a savior standing before you, standing tall
but once again you turn away, once again you fall
