The Rose

There is nothing as beautiful as the rose,
But that object of beauty even has its downsides.
They are the thorns, the object of pain and misery.
But the thorns lead up to the petals, which symbolize love.

The rose has been a symbol of many things.
Some are love, hope, and happiness.
But, the slightest influence can change its meaning.
For instance, a wilted rose can mean death, sorrow, and misery.

So in order to keep the rose in the state of happiness,
You must supply it with love and nurture it every day.
But, if you wish to make it the symbol of death,
Ignore it and show it no emotion at all.

The thorns are another story; they are the worst part of the rose.
They are the symbol of the pain that goes into keeping the rose alive.
But, the thorns are merely doing their job in protecting the delicate
flower,
For you see, the thorns are forever trapped to hurt people harvesting
roses.

The petals are yet another part of the delicate rose,
They are the delicate parts of the flower.
Many believe they are a sign of love,
But when they are wilted, they can show they are a sign of betrayal.

Some people believe that the rose is the embodiment of the heart,
And they are correct, mostly.
The rose, and people’s hearts, both symbolize love,
The love can leave both and leave them wilted and full of despair.

The roses within some people’s hearts bear their thorns proudly,
They fear that they may be hurt by outsiders.
The thorns are longer in those people’s hearts, so beware.
