In a torn apart world
One knows not where to go
What to do
Where to belong
With life crumbling, heart in shreds
Continuous waterfalls on face
Looking to something lese
New "life"...an escape from reality

And it so happens
Spur of moment when thinking
Of life as over - mess of events
That Special person takes to notice
Bloodshot eyes, stuffy nose
Tissue in hand, walking out of class
Into a hall

Conversation starts, friend in between
Friendship blooms out of
A single event
Like a rose in an
Unexpected place, among weeds
Makes its home

As quickly as sun rises out of hte sky
Hope becomes renewed
Life moves faster
As a train on tracks
From one place to next - one time to next

A promise broken becomes one renewed
With a single day
New thoughts of a clean
Start, one without anguish

Love anew, hope renewed
Shrugging off the past
And embrace of future

Something longed for
But not come true

Until now, July 8, and a single "I do"
