We thing back and wonder how we let the opportunity pass us by
Why could we not admit how we truly felt for one another?
I remember them saying how perfect you and I were
Remember how it was, how we could not be away from each other

When did things change?
Now, I'm not saying I miss you
Don't think that's what I mean
But why can't we say what's true?

I just want to know if you think of me
I never meant to lose you, I didn't want to say goodbye
Please forgive me if I let you down
I shouldn't have hesitated; I should've given it a try

We could've been so happy still
We could be sharing such a wonderful life, just you and I
But so much time has passed
I can only wonder how things would be if we hadn't said goodbye
