It was done,
She made it through the night,
He hadn’t tried anything,
But she thought he might.
They were at her door,
And all was well,
When he bent to kiss her,
All went to hell.
She looked into his eyes,
Recognized the glow,
Then With butterflies,
Her eyes began to close.
Seconds passed to minutes,
When next thing she knew,
She was in her room with him,
What should she do?
They tossed and they turned,
All through the night,
But what was about to happen,
Would really be a fright.
She has never been so relieved,
To finally be alone,
Then she was the next morning,
When he had to go home.
She thought about him all day,
Till the phone finally rang,
When she answered and heard his voice,
The girl Could have Sang.
Days went by,
All was great,
Till one day he called,
And she knew it was a mistake.
She was happy to hear from him,
Even though they talk all night,
Her life was perfect,
Or was that right?
But something in his voice,
It Didn’t seem quite right,
It didn’t sound the same,
As it did last night.
He sniffed in some air,
Before he started,
He said he was sorry,
But they had to be parted.
At first she couldn’t believe,
What was going through his head,
But then she was crying,
For what he had said.
He said he would be over,
In about an hour,
To get all his stuff,
After he takes a shower.
She walks over to her dresser,
Still in shock,
Pulls out a baby rattle,
From inside her jewelry box.
