Rows of white crosses,
Perched on a hill,
A house overlooking,
A historical thrill.
But if you only knew,
Of how each got inside,
The ultimate sacrifice,
For which people have cried,
For you see,
Each person who resides,
In that neatly kept lawn,
Has given you freedom,
And for that they are gone.
Yet you may hardly notice,
Because it may not affect you,
But rethink your logic,
For that’s simply not true.
They gave up their life,
So that you may be free,
They did it for you,
They did it for me.
And it's sad to know,
That people don't care,
About those who have freed you
About those buried there.
So remember these heroes,
As you live your life free,
And thank those who’ve fallen,
Protecting your country.
