He gulped and swallowed his pride
gripping his gold chain
sweat poured down his face
trickling down his back like rain
the lawyer asked her kindly
"was it this man whos done the crime?"
and when she shook her head yes
he said "Ill ask you one more time"
"you realize we have not much evidence
we base it on what you say
and if you're lying to us now
for his life he'll be locked away"
she shook her head yes again
her face filled with despair
and as she walked down from the judges stand
she knew this wasnt fair
the jury came back in the room
and stood for all to see
"in this case of this girls rape
we find this man guilty"
an uproar filled the courtroom
but she stared up at him so mad
"you made me put an innocent man in jail
when you're the one who raped me dad!"
